Westmorland

The Westmorland neighborhood is a residential area located on the near west side of Madison, Wisconsin. It is bounded by University Avenue to the north, Midvale Boulevard to the east, Mineral Point Road to the south, and Whitney Way to the west. The neighborhood is situated just west of the University of Wisconsin-Madison campus and is approximately 3 miles from the city’s downtown area.

The Westmorland neighborhood is known for its tree-lined streets, well-maintained homes, and family-friendly atmosphere. It features a mix of single-family homes and duplexes, with a range of architectural styles, including Colonial Revival, Tudor Revival, and Ranch. The neighborhood is also home to a number of parks, including Westmorland Park, playground, and athletic fields.

Westmorland Park also hosts a popular weekly farmers’ market during the summer months, where local farmers and vendors sell fresh produce, baked goods, and other items. In addition, the neighborhood is home to a number of restaurants and businesses, including coffee shops, grocery stores, and specialty shops.

University Heights

The University Heights neighborhood is a historic neighborhood located on the near west side of Madison, Wisconsin. It is bounded by Regent Street to the north, University Avenue to the south, Randall Avenue to the east, and Breese Terrace to the west. The neighborhood is located near the University of Wisconsin-Madison campus, and many of its residents are students, faculty, and staff members of the university.

The University Heights neighborhood was developed in the early 20th century, and it is known for its beautiful, tree-lined streets and historic homes. Many of the homes in the neighborhood were designed by prominent architects of the time, including Louis W. Claude and Alvan E. Small.
