University Heights

The University Heights neighborhood is a historic neighborhood located on the near west side of Madison, Wisconsin. It is bounded by Regent Street to the north, University Avenue to the south, Randall Avenue to the east, and Breese Terrace to the west. The neighborhood is located near the University of Wisconsin-Madison campus, and many of its residents are students, faculty, and staff members of the university.

The University Heights neighborhood was developed in the early 20th century, and it is known for its beautiful, tree-lined streets and historic homes. Many of the homes in the neighborhood were designed by prominent architects of the time, including Louis W. Claude and Alvan E. Small.

In addition to its historic homes, the University Heights neighborhood is home to several parks, including the popular Wingra Park, which is located on the shores of Lake Wingra. The park features a beach, a boat launch, and a playground, and it is a popular destination for swimming, fishing, and boating.

The neighborhood also has a number of local businesses, including cafes, restaurants, and shops, which are located along the commercial strips of Monroe Street and Regent Street. These businesses provide residents with easy access to a variety of amenities, including grocery stores, coffee shops, and restaurants.
